This position is designated as SES, General. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level 2 with a salary range of $204,122 to $216,010 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. - Shares fully the responsibility for developing, planning, directing, and coordinating all program activities across national Livestock and Poultry Program functions.
- Participates in formulating Service-wide policies and adapts them to the specific needs, structures, and requirements of the Livestock and Poultry Program.
- Reviews, correlates, and analyzes technical, administrative, and economic materials prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and strategic relevance.
- Identifies significant issues during early developmental stages, monitors new trends and innovations, and takes or recommends appropriate corrective actions.
- Provides authoritative information, technical guidance, and expert advice on specialized subject areas central to the Livestock and Poultry Program mission.
