The Adjunct Nursing Instructor is a part - time position serving as an adjunct teaching faculty member responsible for instructing students on-campus, in clinical sites, and through other delivery methodologies in accordance with College policy and procedures.  The relationship of this adjunct faculty member to the student is one of a leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning.Essential Duties
  • Participates in clinical advising of nursing students
  • Participates in development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of curriculum as indicated.
  • Maintain professional competence and environment
  • Participate in professional development activities is required
  • Work cooperatively with peers while supporting the mission and vision of the College
  • Adhere to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the College nursing program
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Two years of clinical experience in an Acute Care setting within the last five years
  • Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a Nurse Licensure Compact State, or to be eligible for licensure (must have a temporary license before employment)
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current immunizations and annual tuberculosis screening
  • Current medical/surgical, ED, OB, or critical care experience required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  
  •  Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Five years of clinical experience
  • Teaching experience in a community college
