Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned and in accordance with the established syllabi.
  • Provide high-quality instruction for students in the SURG Program and in the Health Sciences Division using varied instructional delivery techniques.
  • Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis
  • Coordinate lab assignments 
  • Maintain records of student attendance and progress
  • Provide consistent and appropriate instruction within the classroom setting
  • Provide continuous review and improvement within the lecture and lab environment

Instructional Development

  • Maintain proper control and effective use of all physical facilities and supplies within the College.
  • Ensure communication of policies, procedures and campus information to all students.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division Dean and Program Director.
  • Review all course work each week and provide student feedback in a timely manner.

Professional Development

  • Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local,state, and national levels.
  • Maintain a current awareness of educational innovations and trends appropriate to SURG education.

Diploma in Surgical Technology. National Surgical Technology Certification required.

Minimum of two years’ experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
