The Perioperative Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for patient outcomes resulting from the nursing care for the patient undergoing a surgical/invasive procedure.
- Major duties include, but are not limited to: Applies evidence-based practice/research to patient care. Participates in unit-based activities to improve and deliver cost effective patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of specific unit level performance improvement activities. Incorporates patient preferences into shared care delivery decisions. Plans and delivers techically competent care to patients in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Manages nursing care of patients, organizes, and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, assisting team members as necessary. Applies high reliability principles and ICARE values to improve patient outcomes.
