About the Position: This position is a highly autonomous RN role located within the Occupational Health Service at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The Occ. Health Service supports employees within WRNMMC, NSAB and surrounding outside military facilities. Clinic hours are 0700 to 1500 M-F. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
- Provide initial assessment for work-related injuries with appropriate consultations and referrals.
- Complete medical, family and occupational history, eliciting new health conditions and concerns.
- Serve as a technical advisor and/or consultant in the field of occupational health nursing administration and evaluation.
- Participate in planning and conducting special studies/projects to improve OH nursing services.
- Formulate and/or establish policy and objectives, which ensure occupational health services provided are within appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.
