About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic nursing care to patients, both adolescents and adults, across a continuum. The incumbent provides services to routine and high-risk obstetric patients during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum period maximizing maternal and fetal health for patients seen within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

  • Provides care for women requiring low to high-risk ante-partum, intra-partum, postpartum, and gynecological care as well as competence in newborn and couplet care.
  • Administers oxygen, IV fluids, amnioinfusion, blood products, and prescribed medications.
  • Provides perioperative care to include serving as the circulating RN for cesarean sections and additional obstetric surgical procedures as needed (i.e., dilatation and curettage, cervical cerclage, cesarean-hysterectomy).
  • Serves as subject matter expert and consultant for nursing staff and healthcare teammates in other areas of the hospital.
  • Monitors and oversees staff performance to assure work is accomplished timely.
