This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.   • Provides outpatient mental health nursing care within the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP), duties include but are not limited to the following: Nurse I, Level 1 Provides fundamental outpatient mental health nursing care with close supervision. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using the nursing process. Provides patient-centered, recovery-oriented care, education, de-escalation, and psychoeducation. Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team and supports transitions between outpatient and inpatient mental health services. Documents triage assessments, risk screens, clinical reminders, and plans of care while maintaining patient safety and professional boundaries. Nurse I, Level 2 Provides competent, evidence-based outpatient mental health nursing care with general supervision. Plans and delivers technically competent care and appropriately delegates nursing tasks. Provides recovery-oriented care, education, de-escalation, psychoeducation, and care coordination. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and demonstrates progression toward team leadership. Participates in professional development, evidence-based practice, and unit-level performance improvement. Nurse I, Level 3 Independently provides self-directed, evidence-based care for patients with complex needs. Plans, prioritizes, implements, and evaluates care using deliberate clinical judgment. Directs staff and functions as an emerging leader in coordinating interdisciplinary care. Educates colleagues and students and serves as a preceptor or mentor. Models evidence-based practice, resource stewardship, and unit-level performance improvement. Nurse II Leads evidence-based nursing care for patients with complex needs within the immediate practice setting. Leads staff involvement in care planning, decision-making, and outcome evaluation. Improves Veteran care by addressing coordination, timeliness, safety, and process concerns. Leads teams, mentoring, precepting, education, and professional development activities. Leads evidence-based practice, resource utilization, and performance improvement with measurable outcomes. Nurse III Leads and organizes evidence-based nursing care for complex patients beyond the immediate practice setting. Applies advanced clinical judgment to improve care planning, decisions, and outcomes. Leads initiatives addressing Veteran experience, safety, coordination, timeliness, and care concerns. Leads interdisciplinary teams, mentoring, education, and development of current and future leaders. Leads evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and resource utilization with outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.
