The Physician Assistant will have admitting privileges to the inpatient psychiatric unit or the Mental Health Residential rehabilitation Treatment Program at the Domiciliary. Incumbent will the responsible for the medical work up of the patient, including work-up, diagnostic assessment, and provision of treatment; assessments on patients using a comprehensive medical assessment and formulating diagnoses using current DSM and ICD.
- Major Duties: Manage a full range of medication management; manage medical symptoms in geriatric patients; manage patients with addictive disorders; evaluation, admission, and detoxification of alcohol/opiate dependence. Diagnostic assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients with multiple medical conditions, including but not limited to skin, ear, nose, throat, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urologic, reproductive, nervous, endocrine, musculoskeletal and hematology. Initial and ongoing assessment of patient's medical, physical, and psychosocial status, including but not limited to: Obtain and document a comprehensive medical history physical examination. Formulates and record diagnostic impressions. Manage full range of medical problems. Order, review and interpret diagnostic tests and take appropriate action. Refer patient to consultations with specialty clinics. Provide medical advice to patients, families, other services and community healthproviders. Provides appropriate patient education on treatment of medical conditions. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm - may be adjusted due to patient care needs.
