- The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician (Dermatologist) for the Specialty Care section within Medicine Service at the VA Clinic in South Charlotte, NC. The incumbent physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative inpatient and outpatient Dermatology patient care at the SBYVAMC. The physician will manage patients with ongoing medical conditions, inpatient, and outpatient, in collaboration with other services of the SBYVAMC. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Medicine Service assuring the most effective delivery of care. Duties include but are not limited to: Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care. Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care Possess procedural skills including simple excision and repair, skin and nail biopsy, electro surgery basic, basic cryosurgery for benign lesions, advanced cryotherapy, curettage Provide consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care. Collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation. Participate in educational programs for section personnel as well as the medical staff. Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level. Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and COS quarterly meetings as per bylaws Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments Participate in, and attend, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Medicine VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
