This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties: Provide patient-centered, evidence-based care in outpatient settings and consultation services in an inpatient setting including emergent needs. Provide telephone and e-consult consultations as needed. Conduct thorough physical examinations, review patient medical data, and order or interpret diagnostic studies as indicated. Document observations, assessments, and clinical changes in a timely manner; collaborate with the health care team to facilitate positive patient care outcomes. Work collaboratively with other specialties and clinical services Provide diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting with gastroenterology disorders such as colon polyps, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer disease, nutritional problems, colitis, hepatitis, gallbladder disease, etc. Provide diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting with liver disorders including hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cirrhosis. Able to manage patients with IBD, IBS, GERD, Barrett's esophagus and other GI conditions Able to perform general GI procedures such as, but not limited to, Screening and diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopies Polypectomy Esophageal Dilation Capsule Endoscopy PEG procedures Regularly monitor patients' progress throughout treatment, managing any side effects and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary staff to identify, communicate, and resolve issues related to the Gastroenterology section, Medical Center ancillary and support operations, and VISN-wide mandates. Participates in quality assurance (QA) activities to include and provide data collection, data analysis, and trends and reports on changes based on data collection.
