You will serve as a Maintenance Worker. This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition at management's discretion. $27.71 Per Hour (Step 01) to $32.32 Per Hours (Step 05). First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

  • Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Conducts work to maintain and operate HVAC/R systems. Conducts work to maintain and operate lab support systems. Operates & performs required preventative maintenance on such equipment as HVAC systems, steam boilers, hot water boilers, incinerators, water hillers, walk-in freezers, diesel- powered electrical generators, HEPA-filtered air exhaust systems, sterilizers, and others Installs, modifies, repairs, & tests new & existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment. Locates & diagnoses trouble occurring in all electrical & control systems and makes all required repairs. Condition of Employment- During on-call rotation, must be within 90 minutes response time to the Center for building emergencies.
