Maintenance Mechanic (Plumbing)

This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Southeast Area (SEA), US National Poultry Research Center, Location Support Staff in Atlanta, Georgia.

• Install, repair, and maintain new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain devices such as water meters, hot water tempering valves, mixing valves, backflow preventers, pressure reducing valves (25 to 150 psi), and pressure relief valves.
• Install and maintain various units and systems such as autoclaves and Effluent Decontamination Systems (EDS).
• Repair or replace equipment such as water closets, lavatories, showers, sinks, drinking fountains, urinals, dishwashers, hot and cold-water pipes, sump pumps, etc.
• Diagnose hydronic problems/malfunctions and repairs or replaces parts or mechanisms needed on equipment such as chillers, centrifugal pumps, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
