This position serves as the Supervisory Healthcare Engineer for the National Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) Office and provides critical support for the professional Engineering programs such as Maintenance and Repair of the multi-million dollar automated production equipment.
- Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major duties and responsibilities of the Healthcare Engineer include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and management process for the Engineering Service that includes qualitative and quantitative standards. Identifies and manages risks associated with highly sophisticated complex pharmaceutical order fulfillment equipment and the general physical environment. Creates and supports programs to ensure the CMOP system manages and maintains fire safety equipment, systems and life safety building features. Researches and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements related to all areas of the facility and all facets of Engineering Service. Researches and provides technical recommendations pertaining to a wide-range of national codes and standards Responsible for providing professional engineering direction to ensure compliance with legislative and accrediting requirements at the CMOP facility. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Eight hour shifts between 6:00 am- midnight (Assigned shift will be determined by supervisor) Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Ad Hoc Telework may be eligible according to agency policy Functional Statement #: 287930 Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
