Without compensation (WOC) physicians provide coverage during weekends, holidays, and evening hours for inpatient patient care and the outpatient clinic for direct patient care when regular VA providers may be unavailable. They may also be utilized at times when VA providers are out unexpectedly to provide continuous patient care coverage.
- VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties include, but are not limited to: Completing daily encounters, progress notes, consults, procedure notes if necessary timely. Timely responsiveness to any alerts/messages in CPRS as needed. Address any patient or family concerns or complaints. Handle Acute Medical issues and patients in the critical care unit Evaluates patients by examining thoroughly. Appropriate clinical, laboratory, and other pertinent data is obtained to determine care the patient is provided Interventional/Invasive Cardiologists to do procedures in the Cath Lab which could include: angiocardiography, left/right heart catheterization, coronary angiography, myocardial biopsy, pericardiocentesis, intra-aortic balloon pump, venous ablation, balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, directional coronary rotablation, cutting balloon, impella insertion, intravascular ultrasound, flow wire, transeptal catheterization, filter wire,percu-surge, temporary transvenous pacing, aortography, supra-aortic aortography, peripheral angiography, femoral angiography, vascular embolization, peripheral atherectomy, or peripheral stenting Ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data for the purpose of determining diagnosis and clinical status Prescribes appropriate and timely treatment; applies indicated therapeutic procedures; recognizes and assess changes in behavior, symptoms, signs, and other pertinent facts about the patient and modifies the plan of treatment when indicated The incumbent is readily available in emergencies; and quick in recognizing emergency situations and taking timely necessary action. Has active certification in BLS as required by facility bylaws Develops and maintains rapport and gains the confidence of patients and relatives through competence and interpersonal skills to the end that patients and others are informed participants in the treatment effort Work Schedule: Alternate work schedule/as needed.
