Supervisory General Engineer for the Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC) in Polacca, AZ. Position will provide administrative and technical direction for the entire facilities management environment services, security, and Biomed, as well as responsibility for the proper and efficient operation and maintenance of all plan and equipment within HHCC. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
- Responsible for the operations, maintenance, design, construction, and modification of buildings, utilities, grounds and attendant systems and equipment for the engineering services department and quarters for the service unit. Designs, coordinates, manages, and administers a facilities program, within policies and procedures and other regulatory agencies affecting healthcare facilities that includes maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and alteration and construction activities. Plans an annual facilities program to provide for the maintenance and repair of buildings and structures; facilities, utilities equipment, and clinical equipment; and to accomplish alterations, additions, extensions or other modifications to existing facilities as required by changes in programs, services, functions and activities (PSFAs); or to improve efficiency or economy of operations. Conducts periodic facility inspections to identify safety, construction, operational and equipment deficiencies and makes recommendation for correction. Serves as the technical advisor to service unit staff on facility engineering, including grounds, mechanical systems, biomedical equipment, preventative maintenance, electrical systems, quality improvement, and other regulatory requirements including nationally recognized codes. On-call hours or standby duty may be required. This is a competitive vacancy announcement advertised under Direct Hire Authority.
