This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Herndon National Guaranty Purchase Center in Herndon, VA. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Loan Specialist at the NGPC. The incumbent is responsible for management and direction of all SBA work conducted at such Center including, but not limited to: administrative operations, servicing, liquidation, purchasing, post-servicing (PSA) of SBA 7(a) and 504 loans as may be assigned by FPOO to that Center.
- As a Supervisory Loan Specialist (Commercial) at the GS- 1165-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves with authority for planning, assigning, and reviewing work of employees; setting and adjusting short-term priorities to assure production and accuracy requirements are met; advising, counseling, and instructing employees on production and technical matters. Guides the work in assimilating changes in the production environment and the organization. Leads ongoing assignments to improve work processes and results. Challenges conventional wisdom as it relates to completion of assignments and projects and the attainment of Center goals. Serves as a role model and technical expert for employees. Provides guidance regarding the handling of particularly difficult or sensitive assignments. Guides and instructs employees with knowledge of new technical information relevant to the Center's work. Serves as technical expert and resource for the full range of liquidation activities and procedures associated with SBA serviced liquidations. The incumbent also has authority to identify training needs and recommend training opportunities; evaluate and rate performance; routinely approve leave; and sign time and attendance sheets. Provides supervision over and necessary guidance, oversight, training, of all such purchase and liquidation activities. Maintains close working relationship with representatives of the participant lender to ensure that all available alternatives are explored. Coordinates with lender and others to maximize recover to the Agency and minimize loss to the obligor(s).
