Under general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, performs support for the Office of Human Resources through resourceful administrative functions for the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Serves as a liaison between SCGSAH, Admin Shared Services Human Resources, faculty and staff, and the general public regarding human resource functions. Stays abreast of human resource policy, procedures, and regulations. ln coordination with Admin Shared Services Human Resources and under the direction of the GSAH Director of Human Resources, interprets school and state human resource policies and procedures as needed for staff and prospective employees and processes routine administrative paperwork timely and accurately within established policies and procedures involving personnel actions. Review semi-monthly comparison reports to track personnel actions to ensure quality assurance. Maintain upkeep of employee files.
- Facilitates the onboarding /offboarding process to include new hire orientation, preparing resignation acceptance letters, preparing new hire folders, and conducting exit interviews. Coordinate with department managers and chairs to ensure an exceptional first day experience is achieved. Prepare human resources hiring/termination action request forms Ensures all necessary paperwork is accurate and provided to Shared Services HR in accordance with established deadlines. Assist employees with benefit enrollment and other employee-related changes, such as direct deposit, federal and state tax forms, and address changes and ensures these forms are filed correctly and provided to Shared Services HR for review and processing within established deadlines.
- Assist with the applicant process through NeoGov applicant tracking system by downloading applications and EEO reports and scheduling and participating in interviews. Provide accurate job advertisement information and updated position descriptions to Shared Services HR for processing in NeoGov. Review interview questions and assist department manager with building hiring committee, as needed. Communicate application status with candidates as needed and completes reference checks.
- Assist with reviewing, tracking, and documenting employee compliance with annual mandatory and non-mandatory training.
- Assist with updating the Master Employee List. Assist in the communication and upkeep of employee directory and organizational chart. Provide employees with personnel numbers and information to access SCEIS. Update PowerSchool with employee demographics. Communicate timely with campus stakeholders any employee changes by sending employee updates. Manage mail service.
- In coordination with Admin Shared Services HR and the SC State Accident Fund, supports Worker's Compensation in-take claims process and FMLA requests, Assists Director of HR and Admin Shared Services Human Resources with open enrollment and other benefit related matters.
- Performs other related administrative duties as assigned.

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
- At least three to five (3-5) years' of human resources experience.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Resourceful mindset for problem-solving, thorough knowledge of HR procedures, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Knowledge of SCEIS. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
