More than four million children and teenagers a year pass through Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national nonprofit supporting a network of over 5,500 local Clubs across the United States, on Native lands, and at military installations. The Clubs are locally led, with a national organization behind them, and the offer is specific: safe places during out-of-school hours, mentors, meals and snacks, and evidence-based programs covering academics, leadership, and health. The model has been running for more than a century.
