City of Dublin careers

Dublin, Ohio was a village of fewer than 700 people in the early 1970s. By the 1990 census it had 16,366 residents, growth of more than 300 percent in a decade and enough to incorporate as a city, and it added another 92 percent by 2000. The city straddles three counties, Franklin, Delaware, and Union, along the I-270 corridor, and its planning documents put the long-run pace at over 1,000 new residents a year across three decades. That arithmetic is the defining fact of the place, and of the young city government built to keep up with it.
