County of Imperial careers

Across 4,284 square miles, Imperial County serves about 180,000 residents in seven cities, Brawley, Calexico, El Centro, and Imperial among them, plus eight unincorporated communities. It was the last county established in California, in 1907, and it's the ninth largest in the state by area. That combination makes it small-county government at desert scale: a big footprint, a compact population, and one public employer behind services that run from agriculture to renewable energy oversight.
