County of Marin careers

The Marin County Civic Center is the largest Frank Lloyd Wright building still standing, and it, with the post office across the street, makes up the only pair of government buildings he ever built. The 26 architects the county interviewed before him had proposed bulldozing the hills. Wright drove the site and 20 minutes later said he would bridge those hills with a series of graceful arches and build on top of them. He died before construction began, and the Administration building drawings were finished in September 1959 under William Wesley Peters as chief architect.
