DaVita ran 2,657 outpatient dialysis centers across 46 states and the District of Columbia on the last day of 2025, and held contracts to provide inpatient dialysis inside roughly 740 hospitals on top of that. A center's care team is a specific list in the company's annual report: registered nurses, licensed practical and vocational nurses, patient care technicians, a social worker, a registered dietitian, and biomedical technician support.

Outside the United States, DaVita's international business served about 94,500 patients through 585 centers in 14 countries, and a separate integrated kidney care line managed 66,000 patients in risk-based arrangements. The company employs around 78,000 people worldwide, roughly 72 percent of those in the US. Its mission statement is unusually blunt about employment: to be the provider, partner, and employer of choice. For a clinical job the practical read is that most roles sit in a neighborhood center running a fixed treatment schedule, not in a hospital, with the inpatient contracts staffed as a separate service line. Dialysis care is chronic, scheduled work with the same patients three times a week, and the staffing list above tells you exactly who you would be standing next to while doing it.
