If you came looking for Marsh McLennan, the name has changed. Effective January 14, 2026 the company rebranded itself Marsh, its insurance broking arm became Marsh Risk, and Oliver Wyman Group became Marsh Management Consulting. Mercer and Guy Carpenter keep their own names through a transition period, and the shares now trade as MRSH. What sits underneath is unchanged: risk and insurance broking, reinsurance and capital, people and investments advice, and management consulting for clients in 130 countries, on annual revenue of $27 billion with more than 95,000 colleagues.
The weight sits heavily on one side of the house. Risk and Insurance Services brought in roughly 64 percent of 2025 revenue and holds about 55,700 of those colleagues, some 52,000 at Marsh Risk alone, which handles insurance broking, program management, risk consulting, analytical modeling, and alternative risk financing. Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance intermediary, is small by headcount at around 3,700 people but accounts for about 10 percent of revenue, a hint at the economics of reinsurance broking. The middle-market end runs through Marsh McLennan Agency, which has bought more than 135 agencies since its first acquisition in 2009. That is why a business that looks like a local brokerage in a US city often turns out to belong here.
