Municipality of Anchorage careers

In Anchorage, the Municipality is the local government for most of what city life touches: an Assembly and Mayor at the top, the Anchorage Police Department and Fire, street maintenance and snow removal, the PeopleMover bus system, property appraisal, and the Port of Alaska. It also runs its own Health Department, whose clinic handles immunizations, sexual health, and tuberculosis screening, and which licenses and inspects child care facilities. One municipal employer, in other words, whose work runs from plow crews to clinic staff.
