Placer County careers

Placer County was established in April 1851, and Auburn remains its county seat, though the population of 421,000 now concentrates in the suburbs of Roseville, Lincoln, and Rocklin. The county stretches 1,506 square miles from those suburbs through the Gold Country foothills to North Lake Tahoe, with more than a million acres of national forest inside its lines and more than a million visitors a year. Six incorporated cities and towns sit within it. For county job seekers, that geography is the point: one public employer, working from valley suburbs to a mountain resort economy.
