More than 70 distribution facilities, over 6,500 trucks, and 90-plus cash and carry locations make up the physical side of US Foods, which supplies roughly 250,000 customer locations nationwide: independent restaurants, chains, hospitals, hotels, schools, and government kitchens. The company runs as a single operating segment from Rosemont, Illinois, buying at national scale while a local field structure handles the customers.

The headcount is smaller than the truck count suggests. US Foods employed about 30,000 associates in the year to December 2025, substantially all of them US-based and full time, and more than 4,000 of those are sales associates working local, regional, and national accounts. Union coverage is real and renegotiated in batches: seventeen collective bargaining agreements covering some 1,900 associates were reworked in fiscal 2025, and eleven more covering about 2,100 come up in fiscal 2026. If the posting you are reading is in a warehouse or a cab, those agreements are worth asking about by name. The rest of the operation leans on its own ecommerce platform, MOXē, and Pronto, a daily delivery program running six days a week in the dense, high-volume markets where kitchens order late and often. Exclusive store brands are a large part of what moves through those trucks, so the buying and quality roles sit alongside the logistics ones.
