Western Area Power Administration careers

WAPA markets and delivers federal hydroelectric power, electricity generated at 57 hydropower plants and moved across more than 17,000 circuit miles of high-voltage transmission to customers in a 15-state service area covering the central and western United States. It's one of four federal power marketing administrations within the Department of Energy, and the work is around-the-clock by nature: its employees operate, manage, and maintain the grid infrastructure that brings over 26 million megawatt hours to market. Regional organizations for the Desert Southwest, Rocky Mountain, Sierra Nevada, Upper Great Plains, and the Colorado River Storage Project put staff near the dams and lines they run.
