The Yuma County Detention Center is a maximum security facility built to receive, process, and house people awaiting trial and at other stages of the criminal justice system, and the county Sheriff's Office counts it as one of three bureaus. Patrol is the second, working from the main office plus four substations, of which only the Foothills one is manned full time.
