  • As a Grants Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Assist with the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of grant and cooperative agreement applications. Apply grant management policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, and requirements in relation to pre- and post- awarded grants. Assist with drafting proposals used for the negotiation, and selection process with legal and grant management staff and program managers. Coordinate with other federal agencies and non-government organizations. Provide advice and coordinate technical assistance on matters of partnership agreements, including but not limited to cooperative agreements, cost-share agreements, participating agreements, collection agreements, and memoranda of understanding. Oversee the reporting of expenditures to ensure compliance with Federal government fiscal and administrative policies and regulations. Assist with the review and evaluation of grant applicants to ensure adherence to grants management guidelines and requirements, and to ensure the selection of grantees with maximum potential for success. This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZA-2 is equivalent to the GS-07/09. If selected for non-competitive conversion to a permanent or term position, this position has promotion potential to the ZA-3, which is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
