Anchorage carries most of what Alaska has to offer a candidate from an underrepresented group, with Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on its north edge and Providence Alaska Medical Center in the middle of town. Fairbanks adds Fort Wainwright and its hospital, and Juneau adds the state government across the bridge from Douglas. Nurses, HR generalists, and tradespeople will find the most to read. The employers here, from the Air Force to the Veterans Affairs clinics to the private practices, have put inclusive hiring in writing.

A good share of these openings are federal and come through USAJOBS, which the listing says up front. Each was live at the employer when we posted it, and the ones that fill come down. As of today that means 28 live openings here. The largest share comes from State of Alaska, Headway, and Pacific Air Forces, and Anchorage, Douglas, and Alaska have the most of them.
