  • Job Summary: The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel. The Internal Communications Manager plays a critical role in bringing the CAO's strategic vision to life through compelling internal communications that connect CAO employees to the organization's purpose and priorities. This role serves as a trusted communications partner with the Communications Chief, CAO Human Resources, and CAO senior leadership. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Manager will oversee the day-to-day strategy, management, and continuous improvement of the CAO's employee communications, editorial planning, intranet site, and communications analytics. This role will collaborate with stakeholders on long-term communications projects that support the CAO's strategic goals and translate complex organizational priorities into clear, engaging content. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Develops, composes, and executes comprehensive communications plans to support the CAO strategic initiatives and other organizational goals. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify opportunities for new communications initiatives. Draft newsletters and other internal outreach campaigns. Track and analyze email metrics and survey results to measure campaign effectiveness and provide recommendations for leadership to ensure staff engagement. Manage the external and intranet organizational websites to ensure content is timely, accurate, and dynamic. Coordinates with the Graphic Design team to ensure alignment on projects, deadlines, and other important information that could impact the deliverable(s). Oversee the planning and execution of internal meetings, including all-staff meetings. Proofread and edit communications for a variety of audiences. Coordinate and create internal surveys. Analyze metrics and present recommendations to the stakeholders. Monitors deadlines for all internal communications projects to ensure projects are delivered on time. Utilize excellent writing and editing skills to communicate technical information in easy-to-understand messages in a variety of formats and tailored to targeted audience. Assists in the writing and copy editing of the CAO’s Semiannual Report. Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.
