This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) with responsibility for performing medical examinations and documenting medical history and findings in order for a determination to be made about suitability of applicants for service in the Armed Forces.

  • As an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner), you will:
  • Perform applicant physical examinations in accordance with agency standards and assist with applicant medical processing at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
  • Ensure the confidentiality of applicants is respected and that professionalism is maintained at all times in the medical department.
  • Perform applicant medical prescreening as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Conduct complete face-to-face medical histories on applicants who have completed the prescreen process and have been authorized to process.
