This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on heating systems and refrigeration and air conditioning units.
  • Visually examines and operationally tests electric, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and equipment using specialized test equipment.
  • Analyzes defects and determines the extent of repairs required. Examines equipment or machine components for excessive wear in accordance with established schedules and makes replacements as required.
  • Works from oral instructions, wiring diagrams, and work orders which indicate the nature of the repair to be made to maintain and repair lighting fixtures and wiring, power fixtures and wiring, power sources, and/or fire alarm systems.
