As a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team Member, the Logistics Management Specialist collaborates with Senior Management leadership and develops supply chain management strategies in support of the VA Health Care System and supported catchment area.

  • The Logistics Management Specialist develops assigned Supply Chain metrics which identify businessobjectives and drives the right supply chain behaviors for planning and executing approved strategiesand providing supply chain expertise to improve supply availability with a focus on getting the rightmaterial, at the right time and right place to support the health care system. Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Integration - Resolves or contributes to the resolution of assigned high-priority logistics, supply,distribution, information or service problems through personal action or immediate coordination withrequired local personnel/activities. Serves as an integrator and/or facilitator for contact with supplychain management customers, ensuring Supply Chain Management Service is positioned to servethe full range of supply chain needs. Performs logistical assessments of strategic supply support incoordination with the supported customers and alerts management of systemic problems.Troubleshoots and resolves issues where supply chain defi ciencies affect the mission. Developsdesignated supply input for fi scal year and long-range plans and programs, analyzing material forreasonableness, consistency, and validity of various assumptions. Analytics - Analyzes the effectiveness of logistics and vendor support services. Develops ongoingstrategic analyses across supply chain activities and recommends solutions for improvements.Researches and studies private industry as well as Department of Veteran Affairs best practices todevelop and apply concepts that best fi t and support Supply Chain requirements. Training and Customer Service - Develops logistics and supply chain management trainingopportunities and customer supply chain systems, programs, support offerings, supplies andservices to collaborative partners and customers. Participates in the development of education andtraining documentation. Communicates with customers and personnel on the role logistics plays inmaintaining comprehensive logistics support, operational readiness and sustainability. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; subject the change based on the needs of the facility Telework: This position may be authorized for telework. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
