- Serves as the Marine Mart Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily store operations for a location with annual sales of less than $10M. Provides leadership, direction, and accountability to the store leadership team to ensure operational excellence, achievement of sales and business goals, and delivery of a positive customer experience. Leads by example and fosters a professional, collaborative, and customer-focused environment that reflects the mission, values, and culture of the Marine Corps Exchange. Develops and coaches store leadership teams to deliver a consistent Dress Blue Experience and execute corporate programs, promotions, merchandise resets, and operational initiatives. Reviews sales performance, financial reports, business analytics, and key performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement. Develops and implements action plans and performance goals to address deficiencies, improve productivity, and achieve desired business results. Drives weekly and monthly sales goals and communicates sales, inventory, and operational opportunities to MCX headquarters. Ensures effective execution of merchandising, inventory, logistics, backroom, and store standards. Develops staffing schedules based on business needs, sales demand, and available resources. Monitors management staffing levels and supports the recruitment, selection, development, and retention of qualified employees. Plans and executes corporate initiatives by establishing implementation plans, milestones, and accountability measures. Ensures store leadership follows through on assigned responsibilities and maintains compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and operational standards. Utilizes business systems, management information tools, and analytics to support informed decision-making and strengthen accountability throughout the store leadership team. Supervises employees by assigning and distributing work; providing coaching, counseling, mentoring, and training; approving leave; completing performance reviews; signing timecards; and recommending or completing personnel actions. Promotes employee engagement, professional development, career growth, and leadership development. Identifies training and performance gaps and works with leadership to establish appropriate development and learning plans. Supports and participates in corporate training programs and ensures required training is completed and effectively applied in the workplace. Provides World Class Customer Service by maintaining a customer-focused environment, addressing concerns promptly, and taking appropriate action to resolve problems. Promotes a positive store culture through effective communication, professionalism, teamwork, and recognition of employee contributions. Supports Equal Employment Opportunity principles and the prevention of sexual harassment and maintains a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and promptly reports workplace hazards, injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage. Maintains key holder responsibilities, including opening and closing the store and receiving merchandise. May oversee one or more Marine Mart locations and collaborates with other Marine Mart Managers, the Senior Marine Mart Manager, and District Liaison to achieve operational and organizational objectives. For positions supporting stores with gas stations: Ensures a safe, clean, and customer-focused fuel environment; may oversee fuel inspections, testing, certification, and environmental requirements. Ensures proper handling, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with applicable regulations. May also perform or oversee food handling, customer service programs, stocking, planograms, price changes, inventory counts, light custodial duties, and other related store operations.
