The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Registered Nurse. This position will function in Nursing Service. The Registered Nurse will function within (Emergency Department) section of the Nursing Services.
- The Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to the following: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the coordination of the patients care with all interdisciplinary teams. Provide urgent and emergent care ranging from basic nursing care to stabilization, resuscitation, and life-support measures to patients with acute and/or chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions. Triage patients based on the five-level triage system to prioritize patients that require more immediate care. Completes comprehensive and focused nursing documentation according to local and national standards. Demonstrates a knowledge of specialty nursing trends and evidence-based care in assigned unit or program. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for admissions, transfers and discharges of patients throughout their hospitalization or care episode. Analyzes and appropriately manages laboratory and radiology results and provides information to physician as appropriate. Responds effectively to patient and family self-care education needs by assessing their understanding, Providing clear and tailored teaching, reinforcing key concepts, and ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to manage their care safely at home. Promotes patient, family, and significant other involvement in the plan of care.
