This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. - The purpose of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Program Manager) is to provide advanced nursing care across the continuum of health care services to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of patients with acute, and/or chronic health conditions. This care is continuous and comprehensive and may be provided in any setting where the patient may be found at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. Delivers specialized, complex, highly professional care that are important program components of the organization and significantly impact the healthcare of Veterans. Management of key clinical, training and administrative programs to include full responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of those programs. Strategically plans to ensure the provision of high-quality services to meet the needs of Veterans being served in planning. Develops and implement programs, policies, and procedures to meet program goals, VHA policy and external accreditation requirements. Performs performance evaluations of all staff assigned to the program, approves time and leave, approves overtime and comp-time, monitors and oversees fund control points, and oversees daily operations, including budgetary oversight Assists in effective integration of program efforts/activities with other medical center operations, community based agencies and activities. Identifies and affects changes in the organizational structure of Behavioral Health Service Line multidisciplinary programs within mental health, as they may prove essential to ensuring conformance with anticipated changes in the treatment needs of the patient population within Behavioral Health. Develops productivity standards appropriate to each service provided and each venue.
