About the Position: This position is located in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, California. A recruitment or relocation incentive MAY BE authorized for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Salary negotiation MAY BE available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced In Hire (AIH) MAY BE authorized for highly qualified candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

  • Delivers comprehensive and highly specialized professional nursing care to critically ill and/or acutely ill neonates and infants.
  • Administers a wide variety of medications in accordance with hospital safety protocols.
  • Manages complex clinical workflows, execute advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and operate sophisticated life-support technologies.
  • Acts as a preceptor, mentor, and clinical role model for new staff, nurse transition program participants, and students.
  • Functions as charge/relief nurse, assuming operational responsibility for promoting quality, cost-effective nursing care.
