About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. An inpatient Pharmacist is a well-rounded pharmacist who is responsible for ensuring optimal and safe medication use for all patients 24/7/365. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

  • Monitor the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals in the medical facility and allied facilities.
  • Counsel alternatives that will still satisfy the medical needs of the situation.
  • Design medication use and disease state education for patients and caregivers in both individual and group settings that effectively meets their needs.
  • Review non-emergent orders prior to the first dose and assesses these for potential adverse drug events.
  • Provide verbal education and training designed to enhance patient understanding and appropriate use of his/her medications.
