About the Position: You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic at Manhattan, Kansas under the supervision of the Operations Project Manager on duties as assigned by the Work Leader to meet program objectives, work sequence and deadlines.
- Perform a wide variety of journeyman skilled trade and craft duties involved in the maintenance and repair of building, grounds, structures.
- Prepares surfaces using pneumatic chipping hammers, wire brushes, sand blast equipment, steam jennies, files, and scrapers
- Perform painting, carpentry, and plaster repairs.
- Use sketches, blueprints, drawings, and piping diagrams to layout new components of systems or repairs existing ones.
- Perform a variety of tasks in connection with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, related structures, fixtures, and grounds at the project and in the operation.
