Department of the Interior

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Midwest Region, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Empire, Michigan. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work a maximum of 50 weeks per year, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

  • Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Performs assignments in accordance with all NPS and US Treasury regulations regarding the handling of federal monies and accountable stock. Provide formal and informal training and education to employees, partners, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools.
