Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Provides guidance to a team of Physiatrists that act as rehabilitation consultants to other clinical staff, including nursing home care providers as well as providing supervision and direction with respect to patients receiving rehabilitation services in the inpatient rehabilitation program as needed. Provides oversight of the TBI performance measures and monitors and refers to case management as appropriate. Has extensive experience with pain management and is expected to provide guidance in the expansion of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) program, including expertise in CAM and/or procedural pain interventions. Provide expert guidance in the performance of procedures such as electromyography, nerve conduction testing, trigger point and joint injections. Ensures the most effective delivery of rehabilitative and medical services while meeting or exceeding compliance with Joint Commission, HIPPA, PHI and VA Central Office performance measure standards. Is expected to follow each patient through the full continuum of care to include admission, discharge, performing histories and physicals, requesting/assisting in the coordination of rehab diagnostic and treatment modalities specific to each patient's needs. Provides education and counseling of patients and family as appropriate. Required to transfer and receive external Veteran patients from other facilities as appropriate. Required to attend staff meetings, complete all required Talent Management System (TMS), must complete all medical documentation in a timely manner as directed by the Veterans Health Administration and local policies. Must adhere to and follow all VA policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure patient safety and ensure high quality of care is provided to Veterans. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
