This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Provide occasional coverage for the other Community Living Center (CLC) Licensed Independent Providers (LIP) which may include: admission evaluations, daily care planning, chart reviews, quality improvement strategies, education etc. Participate in the creation of policies, procedures and guidelines to assure provision of adequate good quality comprehensive services and ensure compliance with performance improvement standards applicable to Geriatrics and Extended Care Service operations. Participate in the monitoring of quality and performance measures within the CLC for compliance with federal statues, VA directives and polices, the Joint Commission standards, performance measures and other VA regulations. Participate in quality assurance activities to improve patient safety, performance, and quality of care and support research projects that may be instituted at the CLC. Collaborate with key disciplines such as Rehabilitation, Nursing, Social Workers, Recreation Therapy, Pharmacy, Chaplain Service, Infection Control, organizational formal and informal leadership with establishing employee's in-service and trainings. Serve as the physician member of CNH Review Committee providing expert advice and oversight and assisting with plans for follow up visits. The physician may make follow-up VVC or telephone visits when indicated by the patient's discharge plan, or upon recommendations from the CNH Review Team. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of patient medical information; ensure accurate CPT coding. Comply with EEO/Affirmative Action and Prevention of Sexual Harassment policies for the station.
