Registered Nurse (RN) -- Performance Improvement Coordinator

This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee Wisconsin, in the Quality, Safety, and Value Division (QSV). The Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an advanced clinician and executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care.

• The Performance Improvement RN demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to improvement in quality-of-care outcomes. The PI Coordinator demonstrates performance that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients and is responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within the facility. Some of the PI duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for their assigned quality management program area activities for the Medical Center and all off-site locations. Collects data, monitors staff compliance with relevant policies, directives, and standards, providing reports detailing trends, and provides direct staff support to all services in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying and administering comprehensive quality management. Participates in several facility councils, committees, and workgroups. Performs duties directly contributing to the administrative management of a health care delivery system. Ability to apply the specialized principles and practices of health care management in directing or supporting a health care delivery system. Works in concert with leaders and others to sustain a culture of safety, modeling High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices. Performs duties directly contributing to high quality and safe patient care within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Directly supports facility leadership in areas of planning, organization, development, direction and evaluation of the quality program within the facility.
