About the Position: Position is in a hospital or clinical setting and is responsible for performing professional clinical laboratory science work supporting the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth mission. Location will be in the Core Laboratory Division, Laboratory Department, Directorate for Clinical Support Services. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
- Perform, evaluate and monitor the performance of routine and specialized test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare standards, controls, solutions, and reagents required for testing.
- Determine suitability of specimens for analysis.
- Perform primary review of patient results.
- Identify unusual and/or discrepant values and initiates appropriate follow-up procedures to verify results.
