This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a TERM position as an Electrician (MVO) is with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC.

  • Installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, relay switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes, street lights, ball field lighting, as well as a wide variety of electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances.
  • Repair low voltage (e.g., 110/220/440 volt, 120/240/480 volt) electrical equipment on alternating currents in support of the organization.
  • Following maintenance schedules and inspections or work orders, performs maintenance services, diagnoses system or equipment malfunction, and repairs as necessary to include controls.
  • Tests circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, watt meter ohmmeter, analyzer, or other specialized electric diagnostic devices.
