This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Responsible for developing and accomplishing completed projects related to construction, remodeling, alteration, repair, and maintenance of facilities located throughout TEAD.
- Develop comprehensive facilities engineering project packages for the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of real property buildings and utility infrastructure.
- Prepare technical designs, detailed specifications, and CAD/GIS layout drawings for building utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements.
- Calculate detailed government cost estimates, material take-offs, labor projections, and bid schedules for competitive multi-trade construction contracts
- Modify existing architectural and engineering design plans to adapt to site constraints, improve energy/operational efficiency, meet ADA accessibility standards, or adjust to utility load requirements.
- Serve as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to monitor on-site contractor operations, evaluate contractor submittals for approval, and conduct quality assurance inspections against contract specifications.
