This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Welder position with the United States Army Engineer District, Huntington Regional Rivers Repair Fleet, Medium Capacity Fleet Unit, duty location at Nashville, Tenn, Pittsburgh, PA and Louisville, KY.
- Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications and work orders.
- Operates forklifts on uneven conditions to unload vehicles and move materials in outside storage yards.
- Uses gas welding torch processes such as oxyacetylene, oxyhydrogen, arc processes, gas tungsten arc, gas carbon arc and various electric resistance welding processes.
- Makes a wide-range of welds, from simple to precision welding, including welds of dissimilar metals.
- Works with light, heavy gauge and hardened metals, i.e., mild steel, carbon alloy steel, stainless steel, copper on brass, brass on stainless steel, cast iron, nickel and bronze.
