- The Carpenter Leader position is located in the Clement Zablocki Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The incumbent functions as a Carpenter Leader within the Architectural Shop, Operations and Maintenance, Facilities Management Division, accomplishing trades and labor work. Major Duties: -Passes on to other workers the instructions received from supervisors and getting work started.-Helps train employees on proper steps in completing work orders and associated tasks. -Assists the Supervisor in establishing priorities and deadlines based on general work schedules, methods, polices, and code requirements. -Checks work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. -Informs Supervisor of the need to effectively and economically use of allocate resources, both human and material. -Constructs, installs, repairs, and modifies wood and wood substitute structures.-Sets up and operates a wide variety of wood working machines and tools. -Assembles items with a variety of joining techniques such as miters, rabbets, dados, and uses glues and adhesives to secure wood pieces. -Installs alterations and/or remodels which includes removing and installing partitions, additions to buildings, openings of walls for installation of door and windows, and lays out fabricate and installs stairs. -Uses wood, metal, and various composite materials when installing or replacing interior partitions, flooring, counter tops, and moldings. -Fills in for Supervisor and assumes leadership over complex projects, often involving multiple trades. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 AM-3:30 PM and may be required to be present to provide off-hours support for utility outages, maintenance and projects support, etc. *This position is eligible for an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) of 8 - 9 hour days, 1 - 8 hour day and one day off a pay period, that being a Wednesday.
