The purpose of this position is to manage the appointment system, serve as receptionist, and assist with clerical duties to provide efficient services to patients, visitors, and other health care providers including external entities under the direction of a registered nurse and under the supervision of the nursing supervisor. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
- Assists in scheduling and rescheduling cancelled appointments in outpatient clinic department and specialty clinics Assists in compiling information and retrieving health records while maintaining confidentiality Assists in faxing health records, files/delivers faxes to appropriate providers Performs clerical duties related to patient referrals, notifies appropriate personnel and routes patient records according to established protocols and procedures Assists nurses with basic nursing care which includes obtaining and documenting vital sign measurements including blood pressure, temperature, respirations, pulse, oxygen saturation, pain, weight and height Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Medical Support Assistant Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov)
